  • Gem picker tool

💡Sandy’sCrafting Tips & Hacks

  • The Glue String Removal Hack: Keep your crystals and metallic surfaces sparkling by using a dry paintbrush with soft bristles to sweep away pesky hot glue webs once the glue has cooled.

  • The Permanent Bonding Hack: For functional room decor, always use a combination of Fix-All or E6000 for a long-term professional bond and supplement with hot glue for an immediate hold.

  • Spoon Modification Hack: Snap the arms off your silver spoons and use only the round heads for the pineapple texture; the handles can be saved for future trim or linear projects.

  • The Pedestal Elevation Hack: Use the stem from a plastic champagne glass or inverted glass tealight holders to give your candle holders extra height and a more regal, boutique presence.

Instructions

Project 1: The Pineapple Crown Candle Holder

  1. Prep the Crown Base: Color your plastic jug lid with a silver marker. Glue it upside down onto the mouth of a sloped glass jar.

  2. Bling the Leaves: Adhere three large gems vertically down the center of a silver spoon tip, then add smaller gems to the sides.

  3. Build the Crown: Glue the spoon tips around the rim of the jar in a slanted circle. Add a second and third row onto the plastic lid, narrowing the circle as you go up.

  4. Finish the Base: Apply small clear gem stickers vertically along the natural ridges of the glass jar to tie the whole look together.

Project 2: The Scaled Pineapple Vase

  1. Create the “Pineapple Skin”: Using a cleaned spaghetti sauce jar (or any empty, clean jar), begin gluing silver spoon tips (curved side out) starting at the top rim.

  2. Overlap Layers: Work your way down the jar, overlapping each row slightly to mimic the scaly texture of a pineapple’s skin.

  3. Add a Base Border: Wrap the very bottom of the jar with a few rows of silver rhinestone ribbon to hide the final spoon edges and add extra sparkle.

Project 3: The Minimalist Pineapple Tea Light Holder

  1. Simple Embellishment: Take a small jam-sized jar and glue a single row of silver spoon tips around the top opening, pointing upward.

  2. Styling: This smaller piece works perfectly as a tea light holder and completes the set when grouped with the larger jars.
